On octopus-pos.com
This site sets no cookies and loads no analytics, advertising or social-media scripts. It keeps two small values in your browser, which are never sent to us:
- octopus-lang — the language you chose, for this tab only (session storage).
- octopus-cookie-notice — remembers that you closed the note about cookies (local storage).
On Octopus Manager (manager.octopus-pos.com)
Every cookie below is needed for the site to work, so each is set whatever you answer in the banner:
- manager_portal_session — keeps you signed in. It holds, encrypted, the sign-in token (JWT) our API issued. Page scripts cannot read it (HttpOnly), and it is only sent over HTTPS. It ends when you sign out, or after the time you chose with “Keep me signed in”.
- .AspNetCore.Antiforgery.* — protects your forms against requests forged by other sites. Ends when you close the browser.
- .AspNetCore.Mvc.CookieTempDataProvider — carries a one-time message such as “Saved” to the next page, then disappears.
- manager_culture — the language you chose. 1 year.
- manager_tz — your time zone, so dates show in your local time. 1 year.
- manager_cookie_consent — remembers your answer to the banner. 1 year.
The light or dark display choice is kept in your browser’s local storage and never sent to us.
The banner and your choice
Octopus Manager shows a banner on your first visit. It does not block the page, and “Essential only” is as easy to press as “Accept”. Choosing “Essential only” changes nothing about what works, because every cookie we use today is essential. If we ever add an optional cookie, it will be listed here first and set only after you accept.
In the apps
The Windows and tablet apps use no cookies. They keep their sign-in token and settings on the device, as the privacy policy explains.
Controlling cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser’s settings. If you block Octopus Manager’s essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in.
